what is a cuvette?

Q:"What is a cuvette and how is it used?"

A:A cuvette(sample cell、absorption cell) is, basically, a glorified test tube. They're sometimes square in cross section to avoid refraction artifacts. Depending on what part of the spectrum is under consideration, they may be made of quartz, though plastic and glass cuvettes do exist.

You put a liquid sample into it then put the cuvette into the instrument. The beams inside of the instrument can 'see through' the quartz and 'read' your sample.

BSDLab is a quality cuvette manufacturer and supplier. We can supply kinds of cuvettes and cells with good quality. If you want to buy cuvette, please contact us.

laboratory vessel: a transparent tubular laboratory vessel or dish for holding a liquid (Source: Encarta® World English Dictionary)

a container with specific dimensions (particularly thickness) and optical properties, used to examine colored or colorless solutions that are free of turbidity, as well as the light scattering of turbid suspensions, such as bacterial suspensions. Its efficacy depends on its chemical composition; e.g., one made of quartz is used for examination of materials in the ultraviolet region of the spectrum and one made of Pyrex is used for examination of materials in the visible range.
